Hundreds of passengers have been evacuated from a plane in Tokyo after a fire broke out in its left engine. Korean Air flight 2708 was taxiing on the runway at Haneda Airport when the fire broke out. Firefighters sprayed the engine with foam on the runway, which was temporarily closed.

Air Astana cancels Ulaanbaatar launch in Mongolia spat

Air Astana has cancelled the planned launch of flights connecting the capitals of Kazakhstan and Mongolia due to the revocation of permission by the Civil Aviation Authority of Mongolia. The carrier had been due to launch direct Astana-Ulaanbaatar flights from June 2nd, 2016. The intergovernmental Air Services Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Mongolia was signed in 1992 and the memorandum of understanding establishing the number of flights to be operated was signed in 2014.

Genting Hong Kong signs with Lloyd Werft for ten vessels

Genting Hong Kong has signed an order for ten ships with the Lloyd Werft Group, comprising of two mega cruise ships for Star Cruises and eight vessels for Crystal Cruises. Star Cruises has designed the Global Class of ships for worldwide cruising, each measuring 201,000 gross tons with 5,000 lower berths. Delivery of the series of ships will commence between 2019 and 2020 starting with one ship a year and eventually increasing to two ships a year.
